Calling all songwriters...

Recently, I have been increasingly challenged about the lack of time I spend in writing material and crafting songs in the quietness of my studio. It was one of those gifts that I told myself I would develop further this year, yet already in mid-July and not one complete song has escaped my pen. I am aware that there are many within the church who have seedling gifts of lyrical and music writing in this area and we must begin to develop strategies of sharing ideas, feeding back on material and introducing work of quality to the wider church. I am not really one for 'writing clubs' or 'composition classes' but there must be an outlet somewhere and I'm not sure how or where it is... I guess the first stage in mapping out the course is to work out who is interested and who feels they have a gift they wish to see developed. If you are interested, let me know.
P.S By the way, some of the greatest christian writers of our time have no experience of music and cannot sing a note (not in tune anyway)! If you have a heart for God and he has given you a way with words, then why not give it a go!
Gig trip for the LAST EVER delirious concert.

Dear all, it is a sad but momentus occasion when a band of such influence and long standing within the christian sector plays together for the very last time. The Sunday 29th November is such an occasion for much-loved delirious and I shall be arranging a trip to London to send them off. Not only is this the last tour but Hammersmith, London shall be THE very last performance of the delirious movement. If you want to get your hand on a ticket, it shall set you back a very reasonable £17.50. We shall arrange transport at as minimal additional cost. There has already been a great deal of interest so if you are keen, let me know asap so I can add your name to the list....watch this space.

Chris Moyles talks about church...
Hi Guys, thought you may like to listen to Chris Moyles on the BBC Radio 1 show talking about his experience of seeing Kings Gate Church on the t.v.
I find it encouraging to hear someone of such status in our media culture talking positively about the "Modern" church!

CCK Worship Album release

Thought I'd just mention the new CCK worship album which has been released this past month. It was playing at this mornings meeting. There are some great and 'creative' versions of songs that we have been playing, including some new material which was introduced at the 'Together On A Mission' conference last week. We shall no doubt introduce some of these songs in the next month or two so get yourself a copy if you can.
Track listing is:
1. You Reign
2. Breathe
3. Creation Sings
4. Have You Heard
5. This Is For Me
6. God Immortal
7. Come People Of The Risen King
8. Build This House
9. There Is A Hope
10. God Of Compassion
11. Gethsemane
12. Pardoned
You can listen to 'Have You Heard' and 'This Is For Me' free HERE!
The 'J' double act takes on Hastings
As I'm sure you'd agree, it was an amazing weekend with Julian and Jeremy (and Anne) who blessed us with amazing prophetic giftings. This helped in both stirring faith and promoting a 'centrality of focus' on the reliance of God in our ministries. Well done to the worship team who I felt played prophetically and enhanced the opportunity and response of the people who contributed during the worship. I know that both Julian and Jeremy were encouraged by what they had seen and experienced in our worship and that is something which we should be rightly proud of. Well done to all who took part. Aled
